¢º Lee Gye-hong, Chief Researcher of the Intelligent Robotics R&D Division, won the Minister oceans and Fisheries Award.
¢º Chief Lee Gye-hong is the general manager of URI-T stage 1 research and development for underwater construction robots from December 2013 to March 2019. He contributed to the localization of 2,500m deep-sea cable/pipe and maintenance robot technology as well as commercialization.
¢º In addition, since 2015, he has worked hard on international cooperation in marine robots, including holding a joint workshop between Korea and China, in cooperation with Shenyang Automation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
¢º He has been involved in research and development of various marine equipment over the past 20 years, contributing to technological development, especially in navigation, autonomous operation, and control of underwater robots, and has written a total of 160 domestic and international research papers, including 13 SCI(E) papers.
¢º Senior researcher Lee Gye-hong has worked as a professional researcher at the Daejeon Branch of the Korea Maritime Research Institute since 2003, and has continued his research in the underwater robot field since joining the PIRO, the predecessor of KIRO in 2009.
