The Korea Institute of Robotics & Technology Convergence (KIRO) and LIG Nex1 opened the "AI Co-Lab" to cooperate in the development of technologies in the artificial intelligence (AI) field.

KIRO and LIG Nex1 held an ceremony at KIRO URI-Lab Seoul office located in Suseo.

In the future, the AI Co-Lab will jointly develop advanced technologies to avoid obstacles in the unmanned water purification project being carried out by the two organizations. In addition, it plans to establish an AI development environment, such as building a data set server necessary for research, secure a data set for major maritime obstacle information on the coast of Korea, and jointly develop a data set-based maritime obstacle detection AI model.

"We expect excellent personnel from both organizations to produce excellent results through joint research in the field of AI and robots," Chung Goobong said, senior Research Director of KIRO's senior research division.
